Yosemite Valley is nicest when you are away from the crowds. This scene is along the Merced River in the western end of the Valley. I photographed from the El Capitan bridge.

I used a Toyo Field film camera on 4x5” film, a 180mm lens, a tripod and black and white film. The negative was scanned on my digital darkroom. The image was adjusted for contrast, and burned and dodged digitally.. The image was then printed on an archival Canon Printer on archival paper. This is a very detailed image that enlarges well.
