Merced River and Cathedral Rocks, Yosemite Valley
Yosemite Valley is nicest when you are away from the crowds. One place to be is along the Merced River in the western end of the Valley. This is where I photographed from the El Cap bridge, inspired by a similar scene done by A. Adams, and others.
I used a Toyo Field film camera on 4x5” film, a 180mm lens, a tripod and black and white film. The negative was scanned with a wet mount system. The image was adjusted in photoshop for contrast, and burned and dodged. The image was then printed on an archival Canon Printer on archival paper. This is a very detailed image that can be enlarged well.
