Cascading Chilnualna Creek,Near Wawona
This photograph was taken on the trail to Chilnualna Falls in the winter. In fact, while we were there it started to snow, and I love photographing the white stuff in the air. It softens everything and creates depth through atmospheric perspective. I am a fan of Japanese woodcuts that portray snow, and I hope that my photograph has some of those qualities.
Photographed handheld with a Fujinon 6x9cm camera on black and white film, and a wide angle lens. The negative was scanned with a wet mount system. The image was adjusted in photoshop for contrast, and burned and dodged. The image was then printed on an archival Canon Printer on archival paper.
